Vintage Artist Made Bisque Porcelain Lidded Sailboat Box

This little bisque box is not only beautiful but clever!  The lid has almost inperceptible triangular cutouts that keep it in place; they are blended in perfectly with the etched verdant mountains in the midground and frame the five sailboats in the lake in the foreground. When you open the lid, 3 little sailboats float in the center of the square base.  It is an absolute delight to open and close, especially since the porcelain has an unfinished texture. If you're a fan of tactile experiences, this box is perfect for you.

Excellent vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or fleabites. This box is in immaculate shape.  It has been hand washed and dried. It reminds me of a summers' day up north, the sun shining down, the water is warming, the wind is blowing gently, and the trees are in full foliage... just a perfect day for a sail!
